On 30th June 2021, Shane Benjamin, the Founder & CEO of Porta had an AMA with the vibrant Big Whale Group community on Telegram. Here is a recap of the conversation and questions from the community.
Jorge Cabrera: Can you provide a list of the most important features and benefits of the Porta platform?
Shane Benjamin: Our main features are:
- Porta Network — create our blockchain that provides exceptional experiences for all users (in early development)
- Porta Pass — manage your experience on the network (in early development)
- Porta Connect — a one-click button that provides you access to a network of DApps and services that integrate with the Porta Network (in early development)
Jorge Cabrera: Can you explain your Token Distribution? How many tokens will be minted? And how many tokens will be locked by the team?
Shane Benjamin: The token distribution is broken down as follows:
Total tokens = 100 million
- Team - 21.75%
- Advisors - 3.75%
- Seed - 10.00%
- Private - 12.50%
- Public - 2.00%
- Ecosystem & Development - 15.00%
- Liquidity - 2.00%
- Network rewards - 33.00%
Jorge Cabrera: Please kindly tell us about your smart contracts? Have you done any audits? How secure are the smart contracts and how about safety from vulnerabilities?
Shane Benjamin: The token smart contract we used is the same as Uniswap and Compound for the UNI and COMP token, we believe these are stable smart contract structures.
Jorge Cabrera: What is your opinion on NFTs? How can Porta take advantage of this trend?
Shane Benjamin: We believe NFTs are not just a trend, they are a way for creators to share their art and collectors to curate pieces of culture to their own tastes. It is still very early for NFTs and we want to lead on bringing them to everyone.
We do have plans for NFTs to be built out on the Porta platform as we feel there is plenty of room for innovation in this space.

Q1 — What is the business model of your project? How does it work?
Who are your potential customers and which markets are you targeting?
Shane Benjamin: Our business model is to provide a platform, software solutions to other projects to integrate with our network and then provide software products for end-users in the form of applications like DeFi, NFTs and so on.
Q2 — In the long run, why should we trust and follow you and your project? How do you raise awareness and elimination doubts of investors/partners/customers?
Shane Benjamin: Each member of our team has years of experience in their specific domain whether it is marketing, software development and product architecture that is a great reason to trust us. A great reason to follow us would be the fact that we always put our community first, we are constantly thinking about you all as we plan our products, development and try to build the best products on your behalf.
Q3 — Can you indicate a feature that you like the most, how does it compete with other competitors? What are you most confident about for your platform? Do you have plans to get users to choose your platform?
We believe that user experience will in the end, that is what we focus on and is going to separate us from everyone else.
Our goal is to make it a night and day difference between our user experience and any other products in the market. Plus building an ecosystem will make the interaction between everything we build as seamless as possible and will be our biggest differentiator.
