2021: End of Year Recap

As this is the season of reflection, we wanted to look back at 2021 before we kick things off in the New Year.
Here are some project highlights across the year:
Q2 2021
April
- The project officially launched during April
- Successfully raised $1.5 million from investors such as Spark Digital Capital, Block Dream Fund and many other investors
- Conducted a successful initial DEX offering on Poolz and an initial exchange offering on MEXC
- $KIAN token lists on MEXC and PancakeSwap
May
- Added a Front-End Developer /UX Designer to the team
- Added a Head of Marketing to the team
June
- Expanded the vision of the project and rebranded to Porta Network
- Hosted 1st Community AMA
- $KIAN token lists on Bibox
- Participated in an AMA with Big Whale Group
Q3 2021
July
- The project got featured in The Capital
- Launched the Beta Program to help provide community members with early access to product and the team
- Participated in AMA with Cryptowid
- Hosted 3 x Community Conversations with the Portanauts
- Added a Community Manager to the team
- The Capital reviewed the project
August
- Launched the “Padlock” testnet, added 400 active validators and at one point had over 500+ validators on the waitlist. Got press coverage in Yahoo Finance
- Added a Rust Developer to the team
- Launched the 1st iteration of Porta Ecosystem Grants
- $KIAN token giveaway to the community
- Added 1,500 members to the official Discord
September
- Yahoo Finance covered the success of the Padlock testnet — 700% validator growth within 48 hours
- Announced the Huobi Pool partnership
- Ran a meme contest for the community
- Conducted a 12,500 $KIAN airdrop to 250 community members
- Hosted 3 x Community Conversations with the Portanauts
- Announced the Ecosystem Grant Winner — EvidenZ
Q4 2021
October
- Shared an updated public product roadmap with the community
- Detailed the new structure for the network
- Crossed 10,000 $KIAN holders
November
- Launched $KIAN Staking to the community, covered by Yahoo Finance
- Created Telegram groups for Indian, Vietnamese and Turkish community members
- Published the project’s whitepaper to allow anyone to understand the project’s technical vision
- Launched Porta Network Ambassadors to expand awareness of the project and help accelerate towards its mission
- Reached 3 million $KIAN staked
- Hosted a Community Conversation with the Portanauts
December
- Conducted a festive meme contest
- Created an audio directory of previous Community Conversations across the year
- Launched the Relay Chain testnet with a select group of validators
- Created a Telegram group for Italian community members
- Hosted a Community Conversation with the Portanauts
